Weekend Reading with Eden: September’s TBR

Dear Readers,

If we haven’t me yet: HI, I’m Eden, your resident book nerd & host of Weekend Reading with Eden! If you’re wondering what the heck Weekend Reading with Eden is, check out BookClubbish’s Instagram to get caught up on all the bookish fun!

I don’t know about you all, but I’m often overwhelmed by ALL THE GREAT BOOKS that come out every Fall. I don’t know if it’s echoes of how much I loved back to school as a kid, but I always use the early Fall as a period to refocus my reading. There are lists upon lists of to-be-read-lists, people!

My reading is largely dependent on my mood. I’ve always been this way. I can make all the plans I want for what books I’m going to read in any given month, but if my mood says it’s time for historical fiction instead of romance, or romance instead of historical fiction, then that’s the direction I’m headed in. This Fall, I’m in the thriller mood. And while there are SO MANY great thrillers hitting the book world this fall (and I’m going to tell you about a couple of those, too), I’m in the mood to revisit some favorites to make sure you guys haven’t missed them. And, in the spirit of Fall being the most chaotic season, I’m going to keep my reviews short and sweet, so you can digest them in bite-sized chunks and come back to them the next time you’re looking for a thriller recommendation.

First, let’s start with the recently published and upcoming faves:

Last Girl Ghosted by Lisa Unger—publishing on October 5th (SO SOON!) Lisa Unger’s Last Girl Ghosted will have you thinking twice before you swipe. OOF. Chills!!!

Never Saw Me Coming by Vera Kurian—this book only just hit shelves on September 7th, so there’s still time for you to name it one of your favorite thrillers of the year! A college campus story where 7 students are part of an unusual clinical study of psychopaths? And none of them know who the others are? YES PLEASE!

Now, for the books we’re geeking out about over here at BookClubbish:

Confessions on the 7:45 by Lisa Unger— An international and USA Today bestseller, Confessions on the 7:45 received starred reviews and major national media coverage, and earned numerous industry and retailer picks, including IndieNext, LibraryReads, and Best of the Month from Apple and Amazon. The main thing you need to know, though, is this book is more fast paced than the speeding commuter train this thriller opens on.

The One by John MarrsA world where a DNA test is all it takes to find your one true love? But wait, this sounds too good to be true. That’s because it is and everything is about to go off the rails. I’m hooked!

Dear Wife by Kimberly Belle I don’t even know how to recommend this book enough to you all, other than to say: BUCKLE UP.

Local Woman Missing by Mary Kubica My favorite Mary Kubica novel ever. That’s all.

So…. Have you read any of the above? Have I convinced you to pick any of them up? Let me know in the comments. I’d love to hear from you.

Happy Reading,

Eden
