You know it’s a good book club pick when over a million copies worldwide have been sold! The Good Girl reveals how even in the perfect family, nothing is as it seems.

One night, Mia Dennett enters a bar to meet her on-again, off-again boyfriend. But when he doesn’t show, she unwisely leaves with an enigmatic stranger. At first Colin Thatcher seems like a safe one-night stand. But following Colin home will turn out to be the worst mistake of Mia’s life.

Set the tone with some mulled wine and the songs of Skylar Grey’s Don’t Look Down album playing in the background. Trail mix also makes the perfect snack while discussing this rollercoaster of a book!

For Friends Who Crave a
Slow-Burn, Atmospheric Thriller

The Other Mrs. by Mary Kubica

Did you know that The Other Mrs. is coming to Netflix? Yep! Why not you all read the book before it hits the small screen?

In this twisty whodunnit, Sadie and Will Foust have only just moved their family from bustling Chicago to a coastal island in Maine when their neighbor Morgan Baines is found dead in her home. The murder rocks their tiny coastal island, but no one is more shaken than Sadie.

But it’s not just Morgan’s death that has Sadie on edge. And as the eyes of suspicion turn toward the new family in town, Sadie is drawn deeper into the mystery of what really happened that dark and deadly night.

Take some inspiration from the setting and indulge in some mini lobster rolls and cabernet!Damien Rice’s 9 album will certainly add to the atmosphere.

For Friends Who Are Addicted to True Crime

Local Woman Missing by Mary Kubica

Local Woman Missing by Mary Kubica

In Mary Kubica’s latest novel, Local Woman Missing, she takes domestic secrets to a whole new level, showing that some people will stop at nothing to keep the truth buried.

Shelby Tebow is the first to go missing. Not long after, Meredith Dickey and her six-year-old daughter, Delilah, vanish just blocks away from where Shelby was last seen, striking fear into their once-peaceful community. Are these incidents connected? After an elusive search that yields more questions than answers, the case eventually goes cold.

Now, eleven years later, Delilah shockingly returns. Everyone wants to know what happened to her, but no one is prepared for what they’ll find…

Put on a James Blunt album (Back to Bedlam to be specific) and dig deep into this riveting story. Classic chocolate chip cookies can be washed down with Moscow mules (we promise, it’s a great combination!).

    1. Tough decision as they all sound great but if I had to choose then I would begin with ‘Local Woman Missing’. Thank you for the chance and Merry Christmas!

  1. It would be Local Woman Missing most likely, although this is an amazing author, and all the books look fantastic.

  2. You can’t miss with any of these, so I’d go with Local Woman Missing mainly because chocolate chip cookies served with Moscow mules intrigues me. My salivary glands are popping at the thought. 😉

  3. They all look great, but the recommendation to eat chocolate chip cookies while we discuss Local Woman Missing makes it a no brainer. Our book club group always features a delicious meal and a homemade dessert. Bring on the true crime vibes!

    1. While they all sound great (and are on my reading list), The Good Girl “rollercoaster” sounds like an awesome literary ride! Thank you.

  4. I read the Good Girl and enjoyed it. In fact I have read several Mary Kubica books and all were excellent! Looking forward to reading Local Moman Missing.

  5. I’ve read one of her other books and enjoyed it. I would choose The other Mrs. first but all three were already on my TBR list.

  6. Great books from a fantastic author! I loved The Other Mrs.!!! Now I’m interested in the Good Girl…nothing is as intriguing as not knowing where the story is actually headed. Love it! This would be a perfect switch from all of the Christmas stories I’ve been reading lately too! Thanks for the chance

  7. My book club has already read the other 2 so now we can’t wait to read Local Woman Missing!! Merry Christmas!!

  8. I have not read Local Woman Missing yet so that is my choice. Mary Kubica is such a good writer!!! She is one of my favorites!!!

  9. All of these sound amazing! It’s hard to pick but I think Local Woman Missing has the most intrigued with that built-in time jump and true crime element!

  10. “Local Woman Missing” appeals to me the strongest of these titles, simply because it seems more in the True Crime genre than the others.

  11. I literally just finished Local Woman Missing. I read it in 7 days. I couldn’t put it down! Yesterday I started The Good Girl, only on chapter 10. This was my first time reading Mary Kubica and now I’m obsessed with her writing! This giveaway is perfect for me! Thank you for the opportunity! Merry Christmas…

  12. I keep hearing good things about “Local Woman Missing” so we would start there. They all sound interesting though!

  13. Merry Christmas! All three books sound and look marvelous. My first choice would be The Other Mrs.
    Many thanks, Cindi

  14. I think “Local Woman Missing” does sound like my favorite genre, true crime. And what a puzzle! Is she? Or Isn’t she?

  15. Definitely have to go with The Other Mrs.
The other two are fabulous and I’d expect nothing else from this one as well.
